Twinkling Watermelon is a coming-of-age story with a twist of time travel. It follows Eun Gyeol (played by Ryeoun), a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) who juggles the responsibility of helping his deaf family with his passion for music. He secretly plays guitar in a band, yearning to pursue his dreams. During his journey, Eun Gyeol experiences a fantastical event – he travels back in time!
Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun): The protagonist, Eun Gyeol is a responsible and hardworking high school student. As the only hearing member in his family, he acts as an interpreter for his deaf parents and brother. His life takes an unexpected turn when he travels back in time.
Lee Se Gyeong (Choi Hyun-wook): Eun Gyeol’s classmate and best friend. Se Gyeong is a popular student with a mysterious side. He seems to know more about Eun Gyeol’s time travel than he lets on, and their bond deepens as they navigate the complexities of this fantastical situation.
Han Soo-ah (Seol In-ah): A bright and cheerful high school student, Soo-ah becomes Eun Gyeol’s love interest. Their relationship blossoms as they support each other’s dreams.
Kim Haneul (Shin Eun-soo): Another classmate of Eun Gyeol, Haneul is a talented musician who Eun Gyeol admires. Their paths intertwine as they both pursue their musical aspirations.
